I missed you kiddos!

I don't remember having had many FOs lately, but I've resolved to ignore this teeny weeny detail and all the projects I've got lying around, and make myself a pair of cute stripey sox instead. I'm only a size 2, so they should fly off the needles, even if I am using 2.5mm needles (although they recommend 2mm, I knit so tightly than I have to go up a size to get gauge).

Now, please, to all you sock purists out there, please don't delurk and shoot me, but I've decided I don't really like the look of the traditional flappy heel, I'm much more drawn to short row heels, purely from an aesthetic view point, and that's what I've aimed to achieve here (not photographed)... not quite sure I've done an acceptable job with all that wrap and turn business (looks rather holey, if you ask me), but I'm going to keep going, and I might even have the first sock done by the end of tonight (cos of course it's Sunday afternoon, and I have no life, so I'm listening to PixiePurls podcasts and knitting...!)

And well, let's not forget that sure as death and taxes, it's the Bank Holiday weekend, and it's chucking it down with rain... :(

Strawberries
Don't be fooled into believing it's summer...it's most definitely NOT!

And whilst on the subject of sh*te weather... went down to Brighton twice in the past few weeks... and both times I must have spent no longer than 3 and a half minutes in total on the beach due to the incessant wind and rain... not funny... but took solace in devouring this:

Ah... and before I go, I just must post these pictures of my friend Ste, who after having solemnly sworn on what she held dearest that she'd never ever let me teach her to knit, not in this lifetime at least, not even if I begged her on my death bed... took my knitting from my hands one day on the train... I showed her briefly what to do and she picked it up immediately... and the rest is history!

(I know you'll kill me for posting this, but I just HAVE to have inconfutable proof that at least once, no wait, twice, oh, alright then, three times in your life, you have actually KNITTED!)
