move to blogger.com

Hey peeps,

I know, I know, long time no speak... I'm not going to bore you to death with details of why I've been absent. You can see I'm still alive, so it must have been cos I was busy with other stuff, right? Right. You can guess, the usual: work (killing my soul slowly), commute... you know the drill, you've heard it enough times...

Well, I've thought for quite some time what to do with my site, and with the blog section in particular. Being as I am, very deprived on 'net time these days, I'm having to choose how I spend my spare time very carefully (what with Ravelry, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter and some other whatchamacallit I can't even remember now... I'm thinking I probably wouldn't have enough time to be properly active on all even if I did this full time!!).

So this site has suffered the most neglect, I fear. I actually feel a pang every time I think of it, how much work it went into it when it was created, the friendships that were formed as a result of it, and it breaks my heart thinking of saying goodbye to it. This, coupled with the fact that over the last few months (or has it been a year already?), I've had to disable commenting due to the silly amount of spam comments I kept receiving (I figured life's too short to delete 100+ spam messages per day, yep, 100+, I kid you not!)... well I don't know... I felt that I haven't been really motivated to share my life on my blog, since there would be no interaction. I do blabber at times, but endless monologues are decidedly boring, me thinks.

So, I've given it some thought, then I've thought some more, and have decided to move the blog away from annarella.co.uk, over to its own space on blogger.com, so I can use their own spam validation thingy and that's one less thing for me to think of. I'll keep all the archives live on annarella.co.uk somehow, although I haven't really got round to altering any of the links yet. All in good time. All in good time.

And as I can be found posting more and more knitting projects on Ravelry, in due course I'll also remove the projects section on annarella.co.uk, and just use Ravelry, as I'm having to duplicate every post now, and that's just silly, isn't it?

annarella.co.uk will eventually be streamlined and concentrate entirely on my little stitch markers adventures, which will still be available there and when I have a little bit more time, I'd like to do an overhaul of them too, as I've been planning new designs and more exciting stuff.
