Hmmm... think I'd have to vote for the wooden buttons as well, if you can find some that you like. I think they'd go better with the beautiful yarn. Look forward to seeing the FO!

The cardi's looking lovely and I think wooden buttons would look better on it. I do like the idea of heart shaped ones though.

Go with your instinct - if its telling you you're not quite sure - then its usually right. I love the buttons, but maybe not for this project.

As for a portable project - SOCKS. And you can knit them on 2 circs or do magic loop. Sorted ;)

Hearts all the way.... or maybe just maybe somewhere out there you may find some wooden heart shaped buttonns.

I've only just got back on the tinterweb.Sorry to be out of touch for so long. Did I mention that while I was in hospital Gill at Wooly Workshop sent me some of your punk pink stitch markers as a get well gift. They rocked :P

Love the cardi, the heart buttons are right up my street too :-) I think nice wooden buttons would look good too, given you only have 3 of the hearts.

I completely agree re circulars too. Currently doing the capelet using Denise circs, it would have been a huge squeeze to get the stitches on straights. I think it's also that the weight distributes more evenly, and you can knit in a smaller space with circs.

Re a portable project, hats are always good :-) I use 12" Addis for most of the ones I make.

Not sure about the heart buttons, although they are pretty I can see what you had in mind with the wooden ones, can't wait to see a picture of it with both of them so we can see the comparison.

Looks lovely from the pictures so far, and as for unravling it, your allowed, sometimes in life wehave to be spoiled! :) I like the buttons, I suppose if you have the big chunky wooden ones on hand plop them on it, take a picture and flick between the two until you decide which one you love the look of most! Though the hearts do look nice. :)

Good idea, I'll have to go and buy some wooden round buttons (I've got the perfect design in my mind, just need to make sure they exist in real life) and do the comparison. Sounds like a plan!
