2mm? No way, waaaaaay too small. 3mm is the smallest I'd go with maybe 2.75mm for the cuff.

2mm needles? Bless you! That's great progress - never, ever again would I use something that tiny.....

I'm the same about the swatching. I'm going to try my first sock soon though, so after your post I'll definitely make the effort... well probably.

I know knitting is a work out for the arm, thats why my tendons have burst through, admittedly after crochet its worse, and I have a HUGE hole. Like Terminator, I can see the workings of my own arm.
Yes you area tight knitter. I remember that when you knit yourself a hat in Worsted/Aran you cast on about 96 sts or more and in the same yarn I would be casting on about 80 as I am a very loose woman! How are ya? Not seen ya for ages? I am still knitting but got pigs of commissioned jobs and not knitted for myself all year!

Wow. 40sts..
I agree with the knitting-is-new-yoga thing. I saw my arm in the mirror and I saw somewhat-defined muscles on both arms (I do most work with my right and knit with my left so I guess it 'balanced' out) Another reason to knit more. lol..

40?! That's a crazily teeny gauge! Go up a few needle sizes!
