Tweedies

I have just finished a Spring weather project, the Tweedies!

I have had this yarn (Drops Soft Tweed) in stash for some time, just the one solitary ball, which I wanted to put it to some use. I absolutely love tweedy yarn (yes, in case you can’t tell from the photos, the yarn has got subtle flecks and specks goodness and is soft and rustic at the same time), and had been wanting to make some short handwarmers to tuck under my cuff, rather than my long armwarmers, which I wear all the time, but are bulkier and a bit too warm for this season.

I think they’ve come out really cute, even if I do say so myself. I did a tubular cast-on, then a few rows of ribbing for a cosier fit, and also so the edge wouldn’t roll (didn’t want the extra bulk) and finished it off with a tubular bind-ff. Such a quick knit!

On the list is making a version with a thumb too – stay tuned!
